THE DOWNLINERS SECT
Contemporaries of the Rolling Stones
and Yardbirds, the Downliners Sect was formed by deerstalker-hatted
rhythm guitarist Don Craine in the spring of
1963. Their brash and exciting brand of R&B has gained them a
long and loyal following over the decades since
The current version of The Downliners
Sect is firmly rooted in the original band with both
founder members Don Craine and Keith Grant as the mainstays.Guitarist
Del Dwyer is now a long term and well established member of the
band. In 2007, John O'Leary replaced Paul Martin. and is
featured on the Sect's most recent album "Chinese Whispers"
John's first tour with the Sect was began in Skutskär
during The Sect's 2007 Swedish tour. In January 2010
drummer Al Brooks passed away and has been succeeded by Mark Freeman
The Sect was back in the studio in May
2015 to record brand new versions of four Sect favourites! The
resulting album will be released on 12" VINYL ONLY and will be
limited to 100 numbered pressings. Only 50 of these will be available
to the public. Each copy will have individual cover artwork and no 2
copies will look identical.
