THE DOWNLINERS SECT

Contemporaries of the Rolling Stones and Yardbirds, the Downliners Sect was formed by deerstalker-hatted rhythm guitarist Don Craine in the spring of 1963. Their brash and exciting brand of R&B has gained them a long and loyal following over the decades since

The current version of The Downliners Sect is firmly rooted in the original band with both founder members Don Craine and Keith Grant as the mainstays.Guitarist Del Dwyer is now a long term and well established member of the band. In 2007, John O'Leary replaced Paul Martin. and is featured on the Sect's most recent album "Chinese Whispers"  John's first tour with the Sect was began in  Skutskär during The Sect's 2007 Swedish tour. In January 2010 drummer Al Brooks passed away and has been succeeded by Mark Freeman

The Sect was back in the studio in May 2015 to record brand new versions of four Sect favourites! The resulting album will be released on 12" VINYL ONLY and will be limited to 100 numbered pressings. Only 50 of these will be available to the public. Each copy will have individual cover artwork and no 2 copies will look identical.
