Blakeney Harbour Rooms Review December 2009
by Jonathan Webster-Clay

Friday 27th November 2009 John O'Leary Sugarkane Band.

Great harmonica playing and gravelly vocals from this quality performer, backed up by a really top class band.  The drummer was playing in the style of the late great (Led Zeps) John Bonham - awesome, and the guitarist formerly of top London band 'Road House' was truly outstanding along with his lovely wife who came on stage for 4 or 5 numbers and blew everyone away with her imense (Aretha Franklin style) voice.  With some very fine keyboard wizardry and funky bass playing also in the mix we were once again at this venue treated to a cracking show from a new band for this venue.  What a real talented bunch of quality musicians they were and they chatted freely to anyone during the break and after their show.  They want to come back - I hope they do - catch them next time round for some really wicked, evil, classy funk rock.
